A weekly journal by DaJuanye "DJ" Wingfield

NOBODY SEES
THE WORK.
EVERYONE SEES
THE RESULT.

I played this game from Pop Warner to a preseason shot in the NFL, and I've carried the same standard into building a business from nothing. Every week I write down what hard work and dedication actually look like up close — and send it straight to your inbox.

Story

Earned every level of this.

I didn't start with anything handed to me. What I have, I built one rep, one grind, one hard year at a time — and I'm doing it again, from scratch, in business.

01
Pop Warner

Where the standard got set

I picked up the game as a kid and never let go of it. Long before anyone was watching, I was already building the habits — showing up, doing the extra work, refusing to be outworked.

02
High School & College

Hardship didn't stop the climb

I dealt with real setbacks along the way — the kind that end most people's dream quietly. I didn't let it end mine. Every hard year became fuel for the next one.

03
Preseason, NFL

I made it to the league

From Pop Warner to a preseason roster in the NFL is a road almost nobody finishes. I finished it. That's not a brag — it's proof the standard works, wherever I point it.

04
Now — Lifestyle Necessities

Same grind, new field

Football ends for everyone eventually. So I'm pointing the same discipline at building something of my own — starting in sales, building toward being my own boss. This journal is me documenting that climb in real time, not after I've already made it.

The Standard

What I actually write about.

Not motivational quotes. The real, unglamorous qualities that move you from where you are to where you say you want to be.

01

Hard Work

The work nobody claps for. The extra rep, the extra call, the hour before everyone else wakes up. I write about what I'm actually doing that week, not the highlight reel.

02

Dedication

Showing up on the weeks it doesn't feel good. Staying with the plan after the excitement wears off — that's the part that separates people, and the part I hold myself to on paper every week.

03

Goal-Driven

Everything I do is pointed at something specific. I break down the goals I'm chasing — in business and in life — and the actual steps I'm taking toward them, so you can steal what works.

Journal

This one's personal.

Full entries don't get posted here for everyone — they go straight to a subscriber's inbox, every week. Here's a taste of Entry No. 001.

Why I Traded the Field for the Grind

People assume that once you've made it to the NFL, even for a preseason, the hard part is over. It isn't. The hard part is what you do the day nobody's handing you a jersey anymore.

I spent years building the kind of work ethic that gets a kid from Pop Warner to a preseason roster — through setbacks that would've ended it for a lot of people. That work ethic didn't retire when football did. It just needed a new field. Right now that field is sales, and eventually it's a business that's fully mine.

This journal is me writing it down as it happens — the wins, the weeks that don't go how I planned, and the discipline it takes to keep showing up anyway. If you're building something of your own, I think you'll recognize a lot of it.
